Introduction

In 2007 Cranswick realised that to make meaningful reductions in the environmental impact of the business there was a need to review and co-ordinate the Group`s approach to environmental management, collectively this project was known as “Green Thinking”.

Cranswick have always recognised the importance of preserving the environment and four of our largest manufacturing sites, Delico (Milton Keynes), Preston (Hull), Cranswick Norfolk (Watton) and Valley Park (Barnsley) are accredited against ISO 14001, which is the internationally recognised standard for environmental management.

An Environmental Project Management Team was established and tasked with assessing the Groups current performance, identifying and sharing best practice and formulating performance measures based on the bench mark year of 2007 that would be used to assess future environmental performance.

We are now two years on from this baseline and have made significant progress towards reducing the Groups Carbon Footprint.
