Overview Jamie believes good honest ingredients are key to fabulous food so he has created a new range of great tasting fresh pork, bacon, sausages and pasta. Developed by Jamie, the new fresh range reflects Jamie’s passion to educate, inspire and encourage everyone to get involved with delicious, good quality food. Jamie’s new range is a collection which showcases both the best cuts of British pork and classic British and Italian style eating. It has been developed to inspire people to cook simple, great tasting fresh food without compromising on quality. What makes the range different is that Jamie has chosen top quality cuts of pork and ingredients and added his own personal touch with recipes from his own kitchen. The range consists of 23 products across four categories: fresh pork, sausages, bacon and filled pasta. The fresh pork, bacon and sausage ranges are all produced from pigs bred outdoors on British farms inspected and approved by Freedom Food. Jamie Oliver said ‘I’m really proud of this new food range and I want everyone to taste for themselves how fantastic it is. It’s all about enjoying simple and delicious cooking, using good honest quality ingredients. Fresh Handmade Pasta & Gnocchi Pasta should be made with love and then served as quickly as possible. This unique and gourmet fresh fi lled Italian pasta range is handmade and sourced from an artisan family run producer in Brescia in Northern Italy. Traditionally produced to exacting Italian standards using only fresh and authentic ingredients, this product offers a true point of difference. Packed full of fresh fl avours and using only free range eggs in all the pasta this range has been developed to include authentic Italian recipes with a Jamie twist. The Handmade Gorgonzola & Walnut Fazzoletto is a delicious blend of mild blue cheese and crunchy walnuts. The impressive folded shapes are best served with a little butter, a sprinkling of grated parmesan cheese and finished with cracked black pepper. Bellissimo! The fresh Italian range of xauthentic homemade gnocchi is something quite special. Only the best whole potatoes are used to make this product, no surrogates, no preservatives, no additives and no colourings. This unique product with only 2% fat is ready in just two minutes. Development The range has been developed in partnership with Cranswick who shares Jamie’s passion for producing top quality food products. Animal welfare is really important to Jamie so all the British pork is from pigs which are outdoor bred on farms in the UK. These farms have been inspected and approved by Freedom Food - the RSPCA’s own farm assurance and food labelling scheme. The pigs are born outdoors in sheltered huts, staying with their mums before being moved into deep straw bedded barns where they continue to stay with the same pigs. Here they are kept in social groups where they have room to move, lie comfortably and express their natural foraging and rooting behaviours. Sows are kept outdoors at all times, with access to shelters with plenty of straw bedding material to allow them to lie comfortably and to nest build. Freedom Food is the only farm assurance and food labelling scheme dedicated to improving the lives of farm animals. The RSPCA standards cover all aspects of the pig’s life including living conditions, diet, handling, transport and slaughter. |
